I have just been out for a "spin" in my tub but couldn't get it to pull more than 2.5K rpm's. It pulls up to the red line when in neutral but wont budge past 2.5K in gear (under 10knots)

Has anybody encountered this before and has any much needed advice that they could impart on a frazzled like minded "sailor"??

The engines a Mercruiser 1.7tdi coupled to an Alpha 1 Gen 2 drive.

Thanks in advance.

Clyde.

1. barnacles on hull and / or prop
2. fuel filter clogging up
3.air filter choked (any black smoke from exhaust?)
4. pontoon still attached
5.extra weight in boat- any flooded compartments/ double skin?
6. all the above at the same time!

hi

I agree with rich, i had the same problem 5 weeks ago, took her to cows for a lift out (sealift) and was amazed at the number of barnecles, after a power wash she was back to nornal. so check it out, the barnecles appeared in a matter of a few weeks?

Im pretty sure Clyder is in dry berthing - so fouling wont be the problem.

ready to stand corrected though

Thanks for the advice guys. My hulls like new (dry berthed and only in the briney a few hours at a time)

I have pulled the pre filters and they are all goo. Looks my tanks "infested". Will drain tank at weekend, discard fuel and then "re-boot" the system with new filters and Soltron.

Thanks again,

Clyde.
