Hit a bloddy pot today in poor vis due to heavy shower of sleet. Boat shudders, vibration for a brief period. Pull revs down as quick as I can. Go aft for a look. Sure enough, rope and a dirty plastic container drifting from one of the drives. Lift the drives and cut the remaining rope off (props did a good job of cutting). Dumped the lot into the cockpit. Started up and everything was fine. When I got back to my berth I had a look at the plastic container. Would you believe it - it was a milk container in a past life. How was I supposed to see that then?

I hope Ellen and or her crew and all the other boats that will be out there (me included depending on the time of her arrival) are vigilante when coming home as there are literally HUNDREDS strewn around Falmouth bay and Carrick Roads!!

It's about time that the Harbour Commissioners took their finger out and removed all the pots in Carrick Roads & the Bay, unless properly marked.

The Roads and the Bay are within their jurisdiction.
