When we came back into Poole last weekend and via the North Channel through the harbour, there were marker buoys dead centre of the channel from about level with RMYC marina to Salterns Marina, I counted at least 8. Are there lobsters in Poole or are these marking nets? Not very friendly IMHO. There were numbers on them but too faded to read.

no lobsters and shore crabs only.............no idea what they could be other than eel nets?

if in the channel itself (North) I would call the harbour master with an exact position and list as a navigation hazard leaving them to sort out!

Hi Duncan

Yes dead centre of the North Channel, small (18" dia maybe) pink buoys and no pickups. I did think of calling the HM but we were busy putting on fenders/lines and dropping sail after a rough ride from Cherbourg. Once we were in our berth we were busy again, not to mention we needed to change into dry clothes and I forgot about it. We have on occasion had some of the local jobseeker allowance 'fishermen' laying nets IN PYC marina, maybe it was them again.
