22' mobo - broken down - no engine - did not know where he was - wanted to be rescued. NO GPS (even a phone has a GPS these days) - no flares - no nothing.
Best position: somewhere between land and Sealand.

THAMES CG and VOLUNTEER on the case. You had to admire their patience.

Was eventually located and taken in tow by VOLUNTEER off the Deben entrance.

I heard that they (name and shame "Mad Max") had run out of fuel !!!

and thanks by the way - It was us, on starboard, that you gave way to near the deep water channel off Felixstowe
 
These chaps always seem to have suitable boat names for their craft.

I overheard 'Irresponsible 2' having a spot of bother a while back!

I'm not sure what happened to 'Irresponsible'.....
