RCC club boat on transit to Ramsgate from Medway.
Inshore route .
Picked up pot line going round North Foreland not far past Long Nose.
Affected engine shut down, pot line grabbed with boat hook and cut.
Continued towards Ramsgate on other engine and with 50 feet of rope and plastic 5l oil container trailing behind.
Called Port Control, explained the predicament, control called him straight in and mentioned there was diver on site and would the skipper like a visit ?
Rope unwound and stern gear checked, very small amount requested to cover the divers time.
Skipper did mention that on the return journey much attention was paid to scanning the horizon for objects in the water ahead. and with a brisk and bracing NE against the tide it was an interesting ride back.
