How easy is it to post parcel, possibly using Royal Mail, from UK to Spain. Has a look at the rules, and seems quite complicated for a goods amount of around £300, spinnikar pole ends, and a medium size parcel.

Any one done something similar and if yes how easy and tips.

Thanks Peter

I have often posted items to Spain and Portugal using Poste Restante and it has worked well. But that was before the onset of the dark times and I wouldn't try it now. Can't even find the Lista Correos link anymore so perhaps it's demise is yet another Brexit bonus?
Maybe find someone who is driving / sailing to EU and beg a favour. Or use the 'Yacht in Transit' dodge at Gib.

I would use DPD rather than Royal Mail but one of the benefits of B****t is that there is a lot of paperwork and you will be liable to customs delays and duty etc., in Spain. I usually send a package to myself with the stuff I can't carry on once a year or so. Next time I'm able to get over there I am going to book a checked bag with it all.

Well the best way so far I found from uk to Italy is to send parts to my son who repack them and send by RM , it's taken up to three weeks some times even tho he paid extra last one he was told 10days it took 19 days so there's no point paying the extra valve he put a min amount , of course you taken the risk if it get lost you won't be able to claim for it ,
Or post it as a present, I think that also works.

Royal Mail use their own paperwork which makes it "easier" to do than some others, form CN23 is required for value over £270 or CN22 or CN22B is less than £270 and the Click & Drop online system will create them for you or you can go to Digital CN22 and CN23 customs forms | Post Office and do them there

Form: https://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/CN23.pdf

Info: Customs forms for sending abroad | Post Office - what is daft is that different Royal Mail services need & use different forms!
Info: CN22 Customs form guide | Post Office

Main Issue may be that the maximum weight allowed for international orders is 2kg

You will need Customs Codes & Descriptions for the items you are sending - see Articles and equipment for general physical exercise, gymnastics, athletics, other sports (including table tennis) or outdoor games, not specified or included elsewhere in this chapter; swimming pools and paddling pools - UK Global Online Tariff - GOV.UK

Suggested Codes & descriptions:

Customs Code: 95062900
Customs Description: Water Sports Equipment. Other

Could be worth sending as a gift but high value gifts and large low value parcels may raise red flags at Spanish customs

Don't forget to sign and date the CN22 or CN23 before attaching to parcel

Sending to "rest of world outside the EU" has always been fairly easy using Royal Mail so sending to the EU should just need a CN22/CN23 same as everyone else

I sent parcels regularly to my boat in Marina in Spain...I found it very efficient sending parcels up to 20kg ..cheaper than taking items with me on plane.I used Parcel to Go last parcel got there on 30 th Dec..phew.
They did stop using some couriers initially but now you sort the Documents out as you arrange. You have to look at various dimensions and couriers to get best deal.It used to average 5 days to get to my marina in Southern Spain and efficiently tracked all the way

I haven't read all the replies above, and my recommendations relate to France, but I sent my unworn (2017) wetsuit to my sister, on March 20th (she's my height and about 40lbs lighter than me)...

...I managed to get the box nine grams below the 2-kilo limit, above which the postage doubles or trebles in price...

...and I think the cost was about £13.

She received the parcel over the bank holiday weekend.

And I can now look at getting a wetsuit that I fit into. Or a yacht, for which I won't need a wetsuit. :)
