Postage and Packing

Can't believe it.
I need an O ring for my Jabsco electric toilet pump so went to the Jabsco shop website to order some; I like stock, to find they wanted 30.16 postage and packing for items costing under two pounds and weighing very little I know I live in the Caribbean but 30 quid!
To post these in the UK cost 4.50!!!
A fiver for the bits and almsot a fiver for postage to a UK address, now that's what I call a business proposition.
I'm off to Welldom to see if they have any.
Unbelievable.

They have competitive rates for shipping in the EU including the usually premium rate Highlands and Islands (so may be able to do the same for you). They have sourced things for me which are not in their usual stock.

Jabsco is a make they stock so even if they don't have your item in the catalogue they will probably source it for you.

So I called them back to get the measurements as I can buy 10 of these things for under 2 pounds (haven't found the pound key on my new US spec LENOVO) on Amazon with free shipping with Prime and they refused to tell me!! Saying they weren't allowed to give out that information
Now that's what I call customer service. Even beats the French!!

Some companies seem to use just one service for foreign customers, regardless of order size and presumably in the interests of an easy life. The DS place I use in German charges £36 to the UK for anything, because they only use DHL Express.

PS For the pound sign, how about AltGr+3?

This is a normal charge for using someone like Fed-Ex, DPD or UPS and includes customs entry charges etc. The only way you would get it cheaper was if they were to post it. the company are not making a penny from the shipping charge.

Last year I wanted a new catch for my Spinlock tiller extension. Their web site was £6.50 plus £7.50 P&P. Went to a local chandler who sells Spinlock products and they ordered one for me and I paid £6.50! Not all online purchases are cheaper.
