I have also filled in the details on their web site to register to receive the famous catalogue................................ so far not a sausage !
What's the secret of success ?
Do you have to buy something first ?
or go to <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DisplayPageView?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&page=CatalogRequest§=home>http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DisplayPageView?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&page=CatalogRequest§=home</A> to request it online.
I picked up the catalogue from the <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.accastillage-diffusion.com/catalogue.asp?z1=RMBbdXulrK0Lb0C6TdDnID6f&f7=10&f2=1> chandlers in Cherbourg </A> the other week for just that purpose.
You sometimes come across things not seen before, and it's interesting to see how the prices compare.
On the quay in Cherbourg, away from the marina but facing the locals pontoons in the harbour, is one of the nicest traditional chandleries I know. Try it next time you are there.
The product range in the US is way beyond what we have available in the UK.
I've been looking for a very long time for a bow mast that will allow me to fly a club burgee. Impossible to find in the UK, in the US they have many, including options that simply fix on the bow rail. If you know of a UK supplier, I'll be happy to hand over the readies
In a similar vein, I have a sportsboat, and the typical UK wooden pole just doesn't suit. The US alternatives have hooks that you can fly a burgee or flag from an antennae or nice looking metal flag poles.
The range is so much better than we have available here. Unless anyone can show me a UK source that's better?
That's a challenge. I'd prefer to spend money with a UK supplier
