Re: Wheel Steering Maintenance

Hi
I did a search on Cinkel and Ontario and found various boats for sail in Ontario with Cinkel spars etc It may be worth contacting the yard and asking if the manufacturer still trades or indeed if its the one and same company.

Re: Wheel Steering Maintenance

If contacting the supplier fails you could try a little heat as the bronze will expand quicker than the steel , then a few taps with a drift but do not spread the end of the pin .Another way is to drill, very carefully with a small drill at first , getting larger as you go until the pin is out.

Hope this helps./forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Brian
ensure that the pin is not tapered(very slightly)as if it is you would need to drift it from the narrow end only......you may otherwise just be driving it further home!!!!......

Re: Wheel Steering Maintenance

Don't take it into Whitlock Southern. They merely sell on Whitlock systems which are manufactured and sold by Whitlock. The two companies are not related. Do a search and phone Whitlock direct. They are somewhere in the middle of the UK.
