Having just taken delivery of my 9 replacement bolts/washers/nuts for my Jeanneau, at an infinitely more reasonable 102 quid, I can concur that mine are also not much more than 4 inches long.
I concur they dont look long enough, but I guess that is because I havent sat down with a calculator to do the sums.
A nut to fit that bolt is about 20mm thick. It will take about 12 tons to pull it of bolt. Your bolts could be half as long and still do the job. Bad news is youve been ripped . You couldve got em for a tenner . Theyre just metric hi tensile bolts.
If you think about it, the nuts an a 3/4" bolt will only be an inch thick so really its not a prob, I know it doesnt seem right but if you have the correct amount of threads engaged?
presume you bought Stingo? Was interested in her but was doing a let JP sweat to try and nick her!! Sorry John!

Also another thought, as you have the size of the bolts how about letting us know, I will put on the beneteau site to save anybody else getting ripped

Interesting subject: slightly off centre! but in panic mode as to whether had used sufficient 12mm nuts & bolts to hold tabernackle in place (10)! Needed some welding on mast, local specialist ally guy (CAA) approved et al, trogged round, and looking at a Pitt special, stunt aircraft with 600hp under the bonnet, how was the lump attached to the fuselage? FOUR ! 13mm HT bolts.....UR concerned?
Yes the longer bolt into a cast iron keel does not give more strength.
After you get more than a few bolt diameters depth into the keel then the strength limiting factor is the bolt diameter.
As already suggested you have a nut on top (or a bolt head) about 1 inch thick and you have effectively a nut in the form of the keel with thread tapped into it which is 3 inches thick. Which is the weakest link? The bolt shaft itself.
Anyway you will be reassured when you draw the old ones out.
Good luck with the bolt change. olewill
