I've spent a few days at the show and tried a few local restaurants. I can recommend La Lupa in the south end of the High Street - fantastic Italian food and really friendly staff. Had a great meal with the family - three different dishes and all excellent, including a pizza cooked in a proper pizza over, which you can watch them using. Also really good was "Chutneys", which is near the Mayflower Theatre. It's hidden away underneath a fairly ugly block of flats, and looks a bit dodgy from the outside, but a really good meal. A good menu too, look out for the "Duyurazafavor Korma" and the "Bottiburpa" chicken!
On the down side, I'd avoid TGI Friday by the Novatel, as the alcohol prices are absurd, and the Continental Cafe in the show, as £7 buys a fairly small polystyrene plate of pasta and sauce which wasn't really very inspiring. Oxford street seems to be a favorite of the salesmen, so have a look down there and listen in if you want to know what they really think about the show and their customers!
