I fell into that one, it was rowers in those days that gave me grief over wash /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This is me

I'm the one in the driving seat. It was taken a year or two back, but I haven't changed much.

Correct; it's an Evilrude, though I can't remember exactly what model.

Yes; it was a few years ago! As you can see in the background, Hamble Point Marina hadn't yet been invented /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, that's right, though the 14 wasn't built by Fairey - I *think* they were moulded by Island Plastics (I'll have to ask my dad, who sold them). I may have said all this before, but the 14 was based on a design that Ray Hunt had done for the Canadian Navy, for a general purpose tender. It was huge fun and, as you can see, could be driven by a kid /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

I don't think there was a formal speed limit in those days, though I do recall Tommy Sopwith yelling at us to slow down from the decks of Philante one day. The photo was taken on a cold winter's day and, tbh, there weren't many people around to ask us to desist.

Also huge fun was the Bertram Moppie 20, which we had to, erm, test drive from time to time:

The more I look at the photos of your mate's Hunt 18, the more I suspect that it hasn't got its original windscreen. But it is absolutely gorgeous /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

You could well be right about the screen, its a 1961 and been in his family since new but they have fettled a few things. Spent most of its life in canada on a lake, and after 10 years or so was fitted with a crusader palmer V8 with around 260Hp and used for skiing etc etc.

Nice thing though, currently in a shed being returned to its former glory.
