Hi!

Anyone here that can point me in any direction in regards to changing the fueltanks on a Sealine 365 Sportsbridge. Any information on the subject is good.

I've emailed Sealine and also spoken to the Swedish agent for Sealine so hopefully I will hear something from them soon. I have seen 365's thats been up for sale that the owners has claimed they have changed the fueltanks. One UK boat that I think have had the tanks swapped for Stainless Steel tanks was the 365 named Tanzanite that last year was moored on thames and up for sale.

I'm intrested in information on routines/costs involved/if its possible/how long time one should calculate for the operation/who to contact for new tanks etc etc

Feel free to answer directly to my Email adress kaj@nmg.se

Best regards,

Kaj Lehtinen

I presume a twin 365.

this should be easy.

both tanks are under the rear berths.

Just lift mattress off to view wooden base. The base of the wooden bed base will come off with the help of a screw driver.

My triple had steel tanks which with the right amount of lifting power could be lifted out of the bed .

any fabricator should be able to manufacture or repair.

Hi!

Yes, its a twin 365. One of the tanks are under the forward bed in the midcabin, the other tank is located forward of that tank, i.e. somewhere under the stairs down to the salon from the helm.

The tank that I see seems to be a sure thing to remove, but then the next question is what to do with it once I have it free in the midcabin, the tank seems bigger than the escape hatch out backwards and bigger than the door :-(

Also, the tank under the bed seems to be in a plastic cubicle, i.e. the forward tank under the stairs cant slide backwards due to this plastic cube which hold the first tank and still there is the question of how to get them out of the midcabin.

When you say steel I assume its Stainless steel that we talk about? I think my tanks are made of stainless steel also, but they can be something else (not so good at this, its metal of somesort, not aluminium. Dont know what Sealine used for fueltanks in the beginning. My boat is #23 of the productionline, so its a early '89 model.

Getting the tanks out the boat is easy, just chop them up with an angle grinder or quicker still with a sthyl ? saw. Getting the new ones in in one piece might be a little more difficult.../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Triple ace was /is 88 model and had two tanks under both bunks (100 galls each) and the middle tank / egine was under the stairs going down from the cockpit

they were/are not stainless

if yours are stainless why change them?
