Dougie
No excuses to offer other than both job hunting , very restricted internet access at the same time as house and mortgage hunting combined with work and trying to patch holes in the boat so I can launch on time . Believe it or not I'm only on here for minutes at a time until it gets late and then it's too late to do anything realistically , and then it's job applications and houses that take priority .
Anyway , no excuses as said , yes , we are up for it
Maybe I'll try and organise something along the lines of what I was after for later in the year so this one is over to you

How many people are they able to accomodate for food ?

Excellent /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Let's see if we can drum up some interest /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As it's within striking distance of home we will be able to drive back instead of stopping over , which means I can get another day in on the boat /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Slow responce....

Its a bit slow on reponces at the moment.....

we seem to have:
Mr & Mrs FC
Mr & Mrs T25
ECB
D3B

None of whom appear to require accomodation....

Mr & Mrs Morgana on hold due to impending boat launch.

Are there a few people not viewing the East Coast section /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Slow responce....

I am viewing.
The venue would be very good for us and we could offer beds for the night.
but:-

I have a lot to do to get Sirenia ready to launch for Easter and the long trip to the Deben.
I don't have the penguin suit.

I hope you all enjoy the evening.

See you on the water soon

Sorry Dougie but we shall be in South Africa /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just ironing my shorts and t-shirts /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To be honest, after 40 years of wearing a tie and lots of do's I have retired from posh /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Slow responce....

The main sticking point seems to be the date , does it make a difference to anyone if it's a week later . I have to be at a convention the week before , and the one before that is looking hectic too , so is the following weekend a better one ?
Haven't spoken to Alan yet and I know Duncan is restricted by shift work , Bill I'm not sure about but if he can he will

Re: Slow responce....

Dave,

Frankly the problem I have is that its too late in the season.... the boat is launched shortly, and if its a choice between an expensive weekend in a hotel (admittedly with some sparkling company) and a weekend on the boat, then its not much of a competition.... it needed to be in Jan really to be an off season event....

Re: Slow responce....

Yep, thats the long and the short of it.
I am also v.skint, even though I sold a bottle of hooch on ebay for 300 quid, that was 25% of the new front door. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Re: Slow responce....

Oops /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
My fault I think . After I was unable to organise things for the start of Feb I was aiming for the same date as last year , which is the one Dougie has suggested , as I didn't think it was a problem . Apologies if that's cocked things up a tad

Re: Slow responce....

Sounds like a good idea Dougie , we've been cash strapped since Xmas too and with the extra work I'm having to do with the boat to try and get her done and in ( cascamite and ply isn't cheap so I find /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ) so maybe an end of season big bash with plenty of time for everyone to get organised would be better
Any thoughts anyone else ?

Re: Slow responce....

We may be able to make it, but that depends on SWMBO and finding a baby sitter. Like most, we wouldn't need to stay over as it is just up the road. In fact we sailed the tender there as a last sail last year.

Re: Slow responce....

James
It looks like its on hold now till a laying down situation occurs at the end of the season

Everyone seems desperate to get on their boats,,,,while the weather holds /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
