with yachtsman.

Quote from November's 'All At Sea'

"A skipper had to pay a fine of 18,000 Escudos for flying an illegal defaced EC flag instead of his national ensign while yet another yacht was fined for not displaying a black ball in a recognised popular anchorage. Other yachts have been fined for not displaying the white riding light required in the collision rules".

Obviously, none of these miscreants could possibly be British.

Yes, it all happened at Cascais

Only the Dutch and Brits were done - the one German boat was flying a French flag and got away with it.

And you've forgotten the ones who were done for not wearing a black ball at anchor.

Apparently the Dutch have behaved very fiecely in the past to those who motored without a cone.

Re: Yes, it all happened at Cascais

It was in Olhao, and the french are very pro motorsailing cone, why not? the rules are there why not abide by them and stop crying! If you always use a riding light and ball, then use the correct ensign you shouldnt have a problem. Even in a recognised anchorage, is it such a chore?
