However, do bear in mind that active depressions can be coming across the Atlantic, and these may be a fair way south, bringing the winds to the SW. Monitor the actual reports at http://www.atlanticweather.co.uk and this should give you a feel for how long such weather lasts. If you need more info, just ask.
