I'm not generally one to moan about fishermans pots but you might want to take note of this one. I was heading from Chi to Cowes today via the gap in the submarine barrier (not the one right on the beach but the next one out) and right in the middle of the gap was an 8" orange pot buoy being dragged under the surface by the tide. I'm guessing it must have been dragged there by the tide as surely no one would be stupid enough to put it there. One to watch out for this weekend!

Forget my earlier idea of garden pruning loppers, tie-wrap a pound or two of C4 explosive where the idiot who laid it is likely to pull it up !

The gap in the submarine barrier you refer to is generally known as the ' Dolphin Passage '.
