Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station Pickup-Dropoff.

Even though I'm moored in Portsmouth, I don't actually know what is the nearest pick-up, drop-off point for Portsmouth Harbour railway station.

I'm pretty sure that you cannot do a cheeky one on the Gosport ferry pontoon. I might be able to do a sneeky drop off at Gunwharf, but then I wouldn't be able to pick up with paying short stay fees. The only place I can think of with decent access would be the Camber, but that's a long walk.

Any suggestions?

Usual form for me is take the ferry (from outside the station) to Gossie and then hike around to whatever marina berth the boat is in. But a pierhead jump from Gunwharf must be quite feasible.

I use the fuel berth at Gosport Marina.

Go onto the pontoon after crew have called me on the mobile to confirm they are in the Marina.

Fill up with some fuel whilst I am waiting for new crew to arrive.

IF you crew call you when thay are already in the ramp in Gunwarf then a pierhead jump from Gunwharf is possable. They don't like it and the marina office is not at the top of the ramp but you should be able to negociate a pickup......

I thought the fuel pontoon was offshore from the marina?

You can walk to the fuel barge from the marina, just hike round from th Gosport Ferry.

I've done a pick-up from the rear of the Gosport Ferry pontoon in the distant past and I've seen it done on the Portsmouth harbour side too, but it's no longer necessary for me. Access to Haslar Marina is via electric gates and an intercom, so this may present problems for a touch 'n go.
