I have just disposed of some that age, they seemed ok from a visual point of view.

The lost property office at Newport police station here on the isle of Wight took them with no bother - seemed like a standard form that thet filled in, so worth trying your local police station.

Solent coastguard have always taken mine in. but give them a call first to check they still do it.

other than that i've always given then in when exchanging for new at your local boaty shop... marine superstore have always done this at port solent.

Or ask at your local fire station.

Hi, I gave mine to the marina office at Haslar in Gosport who said they arrange for pick-up from the coast guard. Mind you, that was a few years ago, don't know if they still do that but wouldn't hurt to ask.

We went through this process about a month ago. Haslar wont take them. The Coast Guard will, and did.

From Gosport head west through Alverstoke and go along the coast road to Lee on the Solent. Keep on going along the coast road and its the next building past the hovercraft museum. It's white with a flag on it and an aerial mast in the garden.
