I wintered there last year (part time livaboard) and its a good secure marina. Lots of fun with over 50 livaboard boats and a room was assigned for activities. A bit of a swell sometimes but better if you can get down to C or D pontoon. Takes about an hour to get into Rome by bus and two trains but only €1
Good little Spar shop, chandlers, good fast food joint, some nice little coffee places, a poor service posh restaurant and loads of handbag shops (its where the Romans promonade on a Sunday afternoon)
Ostia Antica is close by and in my opion better than Pompii.
Book soon, although they may already be full up.
Don't winter up the river because its not that safe.
We had a year there and it was about €4000 for a 37 footer.

I'm now in Barcelona, but have a good stay in Rome. The cruising around the area is a bit naff but in the north (50 miles) you have Argentario, Elba etc and in the south (50 miles) the Ponti islands. To get boat names etc just click on my name and up pops a personal profile....and welcome to the forum.
