Porto d Pisa

Somewhere around Porto Vecchio would be good but they are talking eur 12k, I hadn't thought of trying private berth holders so I'll start searching now any ideas anyone about websites?
PV is premium priced - it's a smart and popular marina and nicely sheltered from the westerlies that blow into Bonifac the other side. Also sheltered from waves by the long inlet (perhaps the nearest thing the western Med has to Chichester, LOL). Also there are no direct UK flights to Figari, and only limited flights to Ajaccio but then you have a long taxi ride. There are multiple daily flights if you change plane at Nice. You might get lucky with a private berth holder but I wouldn't count on it. A lot of French marinas (I know Corsica is a law unto itself...) ban direct rentals by private berth holders and mandate that rentals are done trough the capitainerie office. Good luck though!

How about the newer port at Bastia, I think it might be called Port S Nicolas? The immediate stretch of coastline either side isn't the best that Corsica has to offer, but it's a great position for the Tuscan Islands.

statgar, I am going to move my boat to Marina di Olbia next month for the summer. Any tips for the area or recommendations where to cruise/eat?
I haven't cruised south enough for Olbia but may well do so next week and will let you know if I find anything helpful for you. I flew back from Oblia last week with Meridiana airlines, regular flights to/from Rome and only eur 60! very convenient.
