Portishead Marina closed till Monday

turned up last night dropped the sails got the engine running fenders rigged etc etc called the office to find out their doing lock maintenance until monday .

Spent a pleasant night in Pill Creek home of Portishead Cruising club instead.

Superb sail home Sunshine nice breeze fair tide ,sort of sail that make it all worth while. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I didnt think , It was a last minute decision to get away. The mud is pretty soft where the moorings are.

The boat settled fairly upright on an empty mooring in the middle of the Pill.I didnt risk drying out on the dolphins that Vegas tied to in the picture as the mud bank looked fairly steep.

I suppose it was a bit rude just arriving and using a mooring but i didnt want the hassle of locking in and out of Bristol and anchoring in Portishead Pool is fairly boring. .The dinghy would have been handy.

Must have passed the pill dozens of times but thats the first time I have been in there.
