Does anyone know how this is progressing? I seem to remember that it was being installed this winter ready for the 2013 season, so I would expect that they are well along now. I would go and have a look but just haven't had the time.

we had a walk down there over the xmas hols, it looks like work is in progress....a large crane is on site and it looks like they are working on the gate pillers?

I had a look a couple of weeks ago. As chrishelen says work is commencing on the stonework where the gates will go.I was chatting to someone down there who said the concrete sill is also in place(couldnt see it due to tide being in) There are artists impressions and plans etc posted on the wall down there to look at. Officially it is supposed to be open this summer.

I've been watching that photo stream for a while. Those are definitely the marina upgrade works, and seem very well and regularly documented by the poster.

Absolutely no connection beyond google.

I was down in Porthcawl today. The plans look to have a solid bridge above the tidal gate. It wasnt clear if this is fixed or if it slides out of the way. Anyone know? if fixed then yachts won't get in

I do know the concrete will be good........I have made most of it!
Special underwater microsilica concrete deliveries have been going there on and off for a few eeks now.
