I cannot believe what happened today.

Helping a friend purchase a boat, I went to Marine Sales at Port Solent. Tim the salesman was climbing on and off boats ranging from £100,000 to £500,000 with boots on. These were not just soft soled shoes but winter boots. nice to know they care about the goods they have in trust. Check the insurance cover!.

I strongly suggest if your boat is at port solent you go down immediately to check on the damage that has been done. how do you get shoe polish out of treadmaster?

Who says brokerages add value to the sale.

If you want to have some fun over the weekend, call in and ask to see the workwear.

Re: Boots on boats

This is indeed interesting. I you look round a cheapy boat the salespeople have boots on. More expensive boat and they take boots off before going inside, and more exp than that they take their boots of on the quay. Oops! Not that it must be a cheapy boat, but you gave it away and said "treadmaster". Praps he was protecting his expensive socks?

Anyway, hope all ok at Porto Solente. Make sure that you beat them down a nice lot on the price cos the bum has fallen out of it all since the dotcoms got found out and they're all skint. Well, that's what the
F@!!ine bloke sed to me.

Just so happens I know both Tim's at Marine Sales as they have just sold my boat for me. To be honest I never had any problems with muddy footprints or the like on the boat.

Just out of curiosity, were these brokerage boats or marine sales own stock boats?

By the way, when was the last (or indeed even the first) time you saw an estate agent taking his shoes off when he came in your house?

I think you have missed the point.

Its called standards.

The boats in qeustion were brokerage boats and I at least expect boating type people to respect the fact the fibreglass can be damaged and wear the right foot gear, especially on my boat.

If you allow people to come onto your boat wearing shoes etc. I think you will find you are in the minority.
