Anyone going to be down at the Port Solent Boat show on either Saturday or Sunday?

I believe that there is going to be a good range of New Mobos to look at and its free entry and parking /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I will be on the Port Solent YC stand for part of both days so if your around come and say Hi.

Nick

I shall be on our floating stand "Blue Fin" our Princess 42 (MBM's) along by the shops flogging our magazines...

Makes our stand at London look cheap....

See you there.

Here for info

Worth going to see the maritimo 48.

Its a bargin at £800k!

It does look unusal compared to Brit. Euro offerings, you guys do like the wind in your face /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

From what I understand with some local (Aussie) manufactures, there seems to be an increasing desire to do away with the lower helm. They first went to hardtops (most larger flys have them), but the strong heat perishes the clear curtains, so the 'Sky Lounge' was born. Essentially all the comforts of the lower helm/saloon are now upstairs, with big screen wipers.
Personally I would like the lower helms retained, IMO.

The look of the boat takes a bit of getting used to, but I don't find it unattractive.

They do grow on you S28, I guess you sportsboat guys may take a bit of convincing. The Maritimo has a walk around deck as well, should have a look if you are close by.

How do you do the cropping and chopping bit with the pic? Pretty cool.

I promise not to rattle on any more about the boat, but the heavy focus on upper helms (Aussie) is strongly influenced by the countries obsession with sports fishing, heavily fed from America and their 'battle wagons' and 'canyon runners'. Lifes ultimate experience is backing up to a 500 kg. black marlin, you get the point! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If you're fishing anywhere around here, and you have caught something weighing 500kg, then it's either:

- a cable
- something dropped out of a plane between 1939 and 1945
- the wreck of the last boat that tried fishing in this spot
