Hoping to go to Carentan over the early part of the May Bank hol and then west to Alderney for Milk-a-Punch on the first Sunday in May... (I know, I've the willpower of a bolting lettuice.. But I've not missed it for the last 5 years.)
So, Looking at Adlard's Channel Harbours and anchorages.... I thought a stop at Port Racine might be good, or interesting.
Anyone been there recently?? Any comments?? Alternative is of course Cherbourg but I was a wee bitty under the weather last visit and they might remember!! What about Omonville la Rogue? The same query applies???
Cheers Bob E....

Omonville

I've not been to Omonville for a wee while but the recent article (YM I think) seemed to indicate the only thing Iidn't recognise were some proper visitor's buoys. Well recommended in fairly settled weather, I wouldn't want to be there in anything of a Northerly.

Re: Omonville

If I recall correctly there are 3 or 4 large conical white visitors buoys- no charge. Very rolly mooring in anything onshore, as the waves bounce back off the beach and you get them both ways.

A good place for lunch, great moules/frites and a pretty old village.

Re: Omonville

Thanks for the info..
I just wonder if, weather permitting etc., Port Racine might be worth investigation.
I only draw 1.07 m so it could be an interesting lunch or even tea stop ??
Whaddya think?
Cheers Bob E...
