2010/10/22 - 22/271 PORT OF NIEUWPOORT - PORT CONTROL NIEUWPOORT DISCONTINUED.


As from the 1st of November, 2010 at 00:01 LT, Port Control Nieuwpoort is permanently discontinued.

For information on the traffic situation of commercial crafts bound for Nieuwpoort:

VTS Wandelaar Approach VHF 60.


For all incidents, emergencies and urgent information, contact MRCC on VHF 16/67 or by telephone 059 255 490.

In conjunction with this, traffic dispatch is no longer organized in the harbour, the traffic lights and the stop lights are permanently extinguished.


Radio calls VHF 09 'Port Control Nieuwpoort' will no longer be answered.

In the framework of VTS-SM (Wandelaar Approach), there is an obligation of announcement and reachability on VHF 60 for professional crafts and an obligation of reachability on VHF 60 for leisure crafts.


Traffic signalisation will be adapted as follows:

1) The traffic lights Nieuwpoort on the pilotage services building are permanently extinguished.

2 ) LL no. 0420 (INT B0081) in position 51°08’,59 N 2°44’,52 E and

LL no. 0421 (INT B0081.3) in position 51°08’,50 N 2°44’,39 E

The two stop signs with yellow flashing light Kromme Hoek are permanently taken out of service, and can be deleted from the List of lights:

Delete in column 4: “STOP” Q.Y

Delete in column 8: all information concerning stop signs.

3 ) LL no. 0410 (INT B0076) in position 51°09’,35 N 2°42’,99 E

The fog bell on the western jetty is permanently taken out of service, and can be deleted from the List of lights.

Delete in column 4: Bell(2)10s

Delete in column 8: 1 beat, silence 3, 1 beat, silence 7
