So, I hope you enjoyed the first part /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Just a few pics to cap it off!

In St Tropez on evening, what do we see? A shocking pink boat! but then from another angle, its Blue! Then Yellow! then red! Whose is it?

Cavalli's. And just incase you didnt, know, he kindly named it after himself /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif May not be the biggest yacht ever but its definitely one of the most interesting looks-wise.
After we saw it, on another day, we were directly behind it going into Port Grimaud. people waved to us... dont know who they were but they seemed to think they were famous...
What do I find out the next day in OK!? Its only Bloody Posh and Becks who were on it! :

OK, so Picture the scene:

Its around 37 degrees outside, we're inside having lunch of very french baguette and some brie/roquefort, really frenching it up here, and then we hear this incredible racket shaking the place!

We go outside - SMOKE! We hadnt had rain for a good 3 weeks now and it was getting very dry on the land over the river. This is what the noise was:

That was very exciting! helicopters came in, picked up water and flew off again. this carried on for around 45 mins and was then followed by planes like the one above which scooped up water from the sea whilst still moving and dropped it on top of the flames.

As you can see, they were very close! By the way, who knoew fire helicopters had sirens? anyway, we were safe and the VAR firecopters were incredibly quick and controlled the blaze instantly, although they do practice every day I'm told by locals, just in another area.

Anyway, thats the end of my tale, there is many more photos but those are some of the best.

Off to SIBS tomorrow, maybe I'll see some of you there without knowing it ... ? lol

By the way, i repeat my offer to any dealers at the show, I'd be more than happy to accompany you on any test drives you go out on /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

OK, i finally feel like I've contributed something to the forum /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Have a good weekend guys

Those Boats in pic 2 will make the Big Stuff in SIBS look like dinghys!
Nice, haven,t been down there since 87. Met a nice Girl in a bar and--- Oh Sh*t The Wifes just got in Gotta Go! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Down by the hypermarket near PG some years ago when a fire started on the roundabout area.

Canadair plane flew over, family in large Mercedes opened sunroof to see better..... what can I say, tehy had to open the doors to let the water out !!

You've never got a camera handy when you want one have you ?

I would have loved to have seen that! Just so happens that when those choppers came I did happen to have a camera handy and that was one of those very rare times lol

Glad you liked the pics as well guys!

I had dreams that night of being out on the sea with that plane swooping in behind me while I was driving and them accidentally scooping the boat and me up with it... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It is actually quite amazing to see them do that in those planes. It seems like there's no way its going to work but they just open a scoop at the front and glide on the underneath scooping up the water as it goes, then after about 30 secs, it just takes off again like nothing's happened.

"Ya cannae change the laws of physics captain" is the phrase that comes to mind when you see that for some reason /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

A few years ago, I was anchored near the bottom of the bay at Propriano (Corsica) when two of these planes came down to scoop water. They must have thought they would have some fun with us, because they came down simultanously on either side of us, so close that we could clearly see the pilots.
Nervous? Me? Never! Bloody Hell!
