Dont want to get on the wrong side of the law but is it illegal to post an open letter critisizing poor service from a supplier?

Should a copy of the letter go to the company in question prior to posting notifying them where and when I intend to post.
Was thinking if I did this then I may get a resolution to my dispute with them?

Always best to try and resolve direct first. They may have had difficulties themselves.
