There's a small bungalow for sale at the moment, or it was last time I was there. It sold a couple of years back for £800k. A bargin.

Nice little place, about 3 or four plots down from the ferry with harbour frontage, I'd guess about 15metres, but no jetty or pontoon.

One of the sister's from the programme (I didnt see it) was on local radio this morning. It seems the programme was fairly recent, as she still owns the property. At the time the programme was being made, she had offers on the property in excess of 750k, and the producers said they would include this when it went out. It seems it makes more entertaining TV to make the pair out to be "dizzies" than give a more accurate picture of it all!

Back in 1987, a woman bought the house for £85k and sold it one year later for £160k.

Totally agree with you, gotta be loads of other places as you and I state in our lists. If were talking real estate I would imagine lake side of Windermere (if you can get it) would set you back brewsters.

Yep she was a bimbo. Not only that but had terrible taste too, and a strange kind of put on accent.

Quote from BBC article which was maybe the source of the "4th most expensive..."

"A tiny neighbourhood on the south coast has been named the fourth most expensive place to live in the world...

The average price of a two-bedroom flat in Sandbanks means only Tokyo, Hong Kong and central London have more expensive districts to live in...

The most expensive place in the world to live is Shoto in Tokyo's Shibuya district, at £895 per square foot.

Next comes Hong Kong's Barker Road, where property goes for £859 per square foot, followed by Eaton Square in London's Belgravia at £775.

Sandbanks properties cost £689 per square foot - more expensive than New York's Fifth Avenue at £627"

So it's based on price per square foot -- and though the article is an old one, I guess the price rises have been uniform.

So are we saying that a price per foot statistic could be somewhat deceptive ?

The original article published on the BBC website is dated Saturday, 7 October, 2000, 16:21 GMT 17:21 UK. My lecturer at Bournemouth Uni raised the fact that Sandbanks was the fourth most expesive place in the world to live (hence my research and interest in to it). I have no idea if it still is fourth because a lot changes in four years. There are some amazing houses there though.
