South Coast = expensive!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are obviously some cheaper berths, but for a long keel you are going to want a full tidal mooring which are obviously in higher demand and can get a higher price.

I don't know the Poole area very well, but can go on the experience of Devon/Cornwall.

Good luck with your search

There's usually a fair number of swiniging moorings available in Poole harbour, marina space is available, but at a price. If you really want a pontoon berth then try MDL for Cobbs Quay and Davis's again at Cobbs Quay (but usually a wiaitng list, although a friendly bunch). There are others but will more expensive than those two.

Re: I had a keeler there for years...

If you're willing to expand your search a bit, I'm currently at Kemps, up the Itchen in Southampton. pretty reasonable and very friendly.

Salterns have swing moorings April to November with a 7 day 9 to 5 water taxi included in the price.

http://www.salterns.co.uk/pages/content.asp?PageID=95

8 metres plus VAT, harbour dues and Crown Commissioner fees will be about £1000. Liftout and back with storage ashore at some where like Davies yard will be about another £1000 for the winter.

Lakeyard moorings are similar also with a water taxi but only at weekends.

The only place likely to have pontoon space available is Cobbs Quay, but thats the wrong side of the road bridge and will soon be the wrong side of two road bridges.

Hawkes Marine (or is it Hawkins? I forget) have deep water swinging moorings. I pay about £650 for April to October in Holes Bay. 8.8m. That includes VAT, harbour dues and crown estates.
