Hi Guys

Does or can anyone shed any info on the place.
Is it any good for storage.
Their prices for self launch storage seem reasonable, although the yard next door to an MDL does look rather small and confined.

Anyone out there had dealings, good or bad.
Many thanks
Simon

We have been there for 7 years and found it very good. We are on a pontoon berth there. It is a family owned boatyard rather than a corporate marina. It is certainly much smaller than MDL next door which is also good but more expensive. The slipway will dry on spring tides so unless you plan it right you could be waiting to come out. I'm sure they could advise on depth etc. That said I have never seen much queuing there and have never seen any "trailer rage". You will be aware that there is the Poole lifting bridge to get under on your way to the harbour but unless you have a very tall boat this should not be a problem. The MDL marina also has a boat stack which might be of interest

Hi Richard

Many thanks for your input. I think that you may have the wrong yard Richard. Davis boatyard i thought(and i maybe wrong /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ) is closer to the harbour mouth/entrance so no need to go under the lift bridge.
Have i got the wrong yard in poole harbour on google earth.
I'll go and check. I hope i'm wrong now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks again Richard

Damn, your quite right Richard.

I honestly thought it was a very small yard close to the entrance.
What a fool, i should have checked in more detail. I was only looking on google earth as i spotted something here at home which prompted me to look.
Yes, looks much better than the other yard, although it does look rather tight for maneuvering .
Are there toilets and showers Richard?
I do apologise and thankyou.

Yes
Very good showers & toilets at the top of the yard underneath the office Also little cabin for bacon sandwiches etc. Plus you can nip next door to MDL for drinkies & meal. I'm sure someone who has launched from a trailer in the yard will come along soon and comment on manouvering
