Hello all,

Once again we're seeking your wise counsel about an issue for an upcoming MBM. This time around, we'd really like to know what your boating travel plans are this year. It might turn out that this summer becomes a special one – decent weather, pre e-Borders, and a 60/40 fuel deal that is keeping diesel relatively affordable. So given all this, are you setting sail for anywhere special? And why have you chosen this destination? Or are you simply taking it easy this year with some more local cruising?

If you'd like to contribute, you can either email my colleague Sally on sally_coffey@ipcmedia.com or post here. It would be a big help also if you could let us know your make and model of motorboat and send through a decent digital image of yourself.

Many thanks,

Stewart

We are thinking of Devon this year! Try out Dartmouth and Salcombe, we have two kids boy 16 and a girl 14 and a dog..

we are moored in faversham Kent,We have three weeke off in July/August.

Our boat is capable of high speeds but we would like to take our time getting down since the journy down is part of the trip.

Not sure where to stop on the way as yet?

would like to spend a week afloat on anchor in Salcombe.

Tom

Planning on going to the West Country (Dartmouth, Brixham etc) for the summer break. Basic plan is that after leaving our berth at Eastlands on the Hamble, we intend stopping off in Weymouth for a night or three and then ploughing on down to Dartmouth. We have three children, (16, 7 and 4) so the beach at Weymouth is a must and then swimming off secluded coves and beaches around Dartmouth.

Last year we went to Guernsey, but as you know, the weather was awful, so all we did was traipse around the (what I thought were quite expensive) tourist traps. At least if the weather is not so good this year, there are other attractions to look at in/around the Dartmouth areas!!

The Scillies are on my "hope to do" list this Summer. Plan would be Kingsbridge-Fowey-Newlyn(fuel)-St.Mary's-Falmouth-Plymouth(fuel)-Kingsbridge. Over 6-7days.
May have to be singlehanded, not sure as yet.

This is so that I can avoid the crowds created by all the previous posters invading my home waters /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've just done mine...

Single handed to Oostende from Ipswich.

And what a hash i made of getting back /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The rest of the summer will be local as I am expecting financial restraints, of my own making.
