I fancy a change of location and up the Exe would be attractive to me. I am looking for ideas regarding reasonable priced pontoon or alongside moorings. Drying is ok and with some security and facilities ideally edge of a village with pub/shops but that may not be attainable as I do not know the area, apart from by reputation.
I have roamed around an internet search without seeing any thing that jumps out at me.
Any suggestions to find me a new home are welcomed.

I can't think of any pontoon moorings on the Exe apart from those in Exmouth 'marina'.

Access to th Exe is never terribly easy...

Long john Silver knows the area well.

If you contact Trouts at Topsham, www.troutsboatyard.co.uk, they may have space on their pontoons over the summer. Topsham has a CO-OP and lots of shops. The famed "Topsham Ten" pub crawl is down to about seven, but includes one of the best pubs in the known universe, www.cheffers.co.uk/bridge.html.

Lympstone, Starcross and Exmouth all have swing moorings if you wanted to venture away from dry land. Nothing quite like waking on a warn summers morning in the river and watching the wildlife start their day.

The Exe is not that difficult if you can read a time table and follow a marked channel. Although a bilge keel will give you the excuse of bird watching if you are caught on a sandbank!
