I need some polyurethane adhesive for my deck plug replacement programme. I have used Balcotan in the past and I am happy with it. The replacement for Balcotan, Collano, is eye-wateringly expensive. I was wondering if anyone has experience of using cheaper alternatives such as the Evostick one from Screwfix?

I have used the Evostick polyurethane product for non-structural applications. Sticks well if the teak is degreased first with acetone. If the tube is recapped, it seems to have a good shelf-life.

Gorilla glue is what I use...

Gorilla glue £3.29 for 60ml: http://amzn.to/1iesgWf
EverBuild 5 min £9.29 for 750g: http://amzn.to/RlGddM
EverBuild 30 min £9.40 for 750g: http://amzn.to/1tx5HTS

So EverBuild is probably* less than a quarter of the price.

I've also found that Gorilla glue goes off very quickly after it is opened, in one case I had a pot explode!

* To the fellow pedants, yes I know that one is ml and the other is grams, and I don't know the density; hence the "probably"

You are, of course, right. But, like you, I also know polyurethane glue doesn't keep that long once opened so it's more economical (for me and probably for the OP) to buy small quantities at a higher price per gm than to have to throw away a large bottle of the stuff which has gone off.

Also, a small bottle takes up less room on board.
