I have just bought a little Pioner dinghy. It's made in yellow polyethylene.

I want to add a couple of wooden sacrificial strips onto the chine edges. to counter wear and provide a little bit more directional stabilty when under oars (is that the proper spelling Susyrozyworzy ?).

What is the proper adhesive please ? The wood will be mahogany or oak from distressed and rescued furniture. I can't use a attachment bolt as the hull is rotationally moulded with a gap between the skins.

Thanks techies and shipwrights !

Polyethylene is a difficult one cos its molecular structure is like a wax and its problematic to stick stuff to wax. Cotact adhesive will work but nowhere near enough strength for your purpose. Dunno about one of the Sikaflex range with through bolts for shear strength.

3M #DP-8005 Scotch-Weld Structural Plastic Adhesive.

Available here and no doubt elsewhere also.

However the wearing strips would be better able to stay stuck if they were the same material as the boat rather than an inflexible wood.
