Please help my memory! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

For the first time in eleven years my Blakes outlet cone valve started to leak and I had to temporarily block it open to stop the water drops. I shall be lifting out on the 15 May, when I will re-lap the cones as usual.

My problem is that I cannot remember if two years ago I had used PBC grease or something else.

My question is this: does PBC wash away? I do not think so but I would like confirmation.

I do remember that, with the demise of Keenol I had tried PBC but I cannot remember whether it was during the lift-out of two years ago or in the previous one, which was five years ago.

Any opinions, please? TIA.

I would imagine so, but the PBC is already available and it seems a pity to buy something else if it works just as well. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Although its primary use is for slow moving machinery and fastenings in adverse conditions (e.g. boiler rooms and pump rooms on ships) I use it on all the threaded fittings on my boat, including the rigging screws - simply because I already have it.
