Thames water was mentioned as the least worst regards accepting there is a problem.

Sorry about this - a touch of dark humour on a really serious issue:

"There once were two brothers from Hyde,
One fell down a manhole and died,
The other brother then fell down another,
.... and now they're 'interred' side-by-side"

Except, as we all know - even before the splendid efforts of Paul Whitehouse and co, they'd actually be shot out of the nearest CSO without troubling the sewage treatment 'system' at all.....
