Should I polish Khamsin's beautiful new coat(s) of dark blue Perfection? And if so, what with and when?

She has had a half season in the water since the mammoth paint job and not scheduled to be out until autumn 2019.

Inevitably, minor scratches have happened. Without buying whole tins of Perfection and going through the palaver of measuring small quantities with the inherent waste (££££s), is there a touch-up pencil or pot to cover minor, but very annoying, scratches?

TIA, as usual

When 2 pack paint first came out (for cars) and we had a run, we would flat it out with 1000's wet and dry and then polish it with brazing paste (not T Cut) and the finish was like glass.
But you cant keep doing it or you will wear through the paint.

The problem, as you have probably noticed, is that any left-over hardener cannot be kept for long because it goes solid and (as far as I know) is unobtainable on its own. Safest bet is to use a good coat of undercoat in a matching colour and hope that any scratches do not go deeper than that.

As I have oft said:-
"If one learns by one's mistakes, then I'm getting a fantastic education."
And yes, the first two "attacks" by the bow-roller on the support dinghy went deep :dejection:

I painted my boat several years ago and the International man said....yes definitely polish it. Don't imagine it makes much difference with what but if in doubt use International. It is possible to get a separate tin of hardener....in fact when I ask they sent one for free! Same hardener for undercoat and top coat. Apply a coat of undercoat and build up top coat above general level, fine sand flat and then polish....if you do it right you'll have a job to find it again! Good luck
