Unlikely to occur but thought it would not hurt to pass on information.

If you have to visit Tollesbury marina BY CAR and use their carpark (e.g. spouse picking you up from boat or delivering food to a friend as was my case)

note that all cars entering are ANPR recorded and if you do not contact the marina office or the restaurant to leave your details you will receive a £100 fine.

If marina office and restaurant is closed then personally I would park somewhere else because the cameras will get you.

Signs may be easy to spot in daylight but I did not see them at night and I was actually looking because there was a gate last time I visited by road.

This new system is because people have been using their carpark as if it was a free public carpark. So the few naughty people have created issues and cost, for rightful users and the marina.

The marina staff are as helpful as always has been the case and David the broker is still one of the nicest people I have met since I bought my first boat from him when he was still working out of a porta cabin next to the chandlery.

Loved the marina, found the Lady owner very grumpy.
All these parking signs seem a bit OTT to me as the lower boatyard has so much room for parking.
Shame used to love visiting here.

The parking is controlled by one of those Attila the Hun companies. I got caught dropping something off. Ruby (the Indian Restuarant - absolutely excellent) who deliver will ask peeps to meet the driver. If the driver stops and brings the meal to your boat (as they always used to) he or she will cop a fine just dropping off.

I hope you had your 'fine' cancelled after all you do for the East Coast.

The last Goldie I talked to was the owner about 30 years ago. A shrewd businessman is all I will say. It appears he has passed business to Jaqueline Goldie.

Never met or talked to her.

Whoever I talked to (press 5 for car parking) is not mentioned at Companies House so probably just an employee. If I had talked to someone higher ranking perhaps the invoice would not have been cancelled.

Sadly, it's a dying marina, silting up, poor access, indifferent yard facilities, increasingly inhabited by liveaboards, and no doubt in financial difficulties.

Such a shame. We were based there for years when the kids were small. It was an excellent place for families, safe, friendly and with a swimming pool and tennis courts. It had a good club which organised lots of activities and very good yard staff who knew their business. The Goldies, who owned it, tried to maximise their investment by, for example, turning the cruising club into some sort of “Bistro” and attracting a down-market crowd using the shore-side facilities. Then they split up and things really went down hill. Many long-standing berth-holders left. I have such happy memories of the place that even though I’m based nearby I wouldn’t visit. Too painful.
