Lovely day yesterday, using Plymouth Dry Stack for first time, for a trip to Salcombe and back. Perfect Spring weather until it broke later in the day. Even saw two Gannets diving for fish from about 50ft up - wonderful sight and a first for me.

First photo, passing Great Mews with entrance to River Yealm inside and to the left.
Second photo, looking South, not too many days like this!
Third photo, crossing the Bar approaching Salcombe

Hope for many more such days this summer!:)

Lovely sea state, lucky to have that! Salcombe is a smashing place, I would love to spend more time down that way on my boat, wish I had more time! Dartmouth next?

Dartmouth, up the river to dittisham and have a drink at the Ferry boat Inn, lovely place, in fact the river Dart all the Way to Totnes is worth doing, at the right state of tide of course.

Dittisham is lovely but beg to differ re Ferryboat Inn. We were there a week or so back and quickly left following rudeness of bar staff. If you want great food go across the road to the Anchorstone. Lovely place, excellent food and good friendly service.

Not gonna disagree with you, we were there last year and the service was fine but we didn't eat, just drank and drank! Well we had to do something as the tender was high and dry as the tide had gone out!

Yep South Devon is a fair way away but it was of my goals to travel down to the Dart when we moved to our current location, we would like to do more down there but I think the channel crossing is calling and foreign parts are on the horizon this year!

All recommendations gladly received.

Andrew

Get yourself up the Yealm and go to NossMayo and treat yourself to a meal in the Ship Inn, fantastic spot and it was superb food, your boat will take the bottom so you could go all the way, dry out and then return, that would be a good long session though!

The Dolphin at Newton Ferrers was another good pub

There are a few more pubs around there if you wanted to do and discover.
