Re: Plucky British amateurs launch Americas Cup Tupperware Campaign

D'you think they know that a Topper might not be eligible ... ?

Re: Plucky British amateurs launch Americas Cup Tupperware Campaign

Why would'nt a topper not be eligible?

Re: Plucky British amateurs launch Americas Cup Topperware Campaign

well quite ... and come to think about it, on these web sites that show the progress of the races in 3D etc etc, the boat images are uncannily like them

That would be ace, launch an americas cup with a topper .. crew it with a 4 stone genius , get 18 knots of wind and plane all the way round!

So the guy on the left should have words with his tailor about cuff lengths, the one on the right needs to learn how to use shoe polish (nothing worse than that!),and all three need to be taught how to stand properly.Rant off.
Oh and that's a 1.5 m slalom sail,really badly cut. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm glad you said that. All three need a decent tailor and lessons in how to present to camera

and red ties?

oh, and a haircut apiece while we are bitching

Dont really give a **** what they look like or who the tailor is, more interested in them delivering the goods, perhaps we need to give them a bit more encouragemant and support.

Well done to them.

To be fair it must be very difficult to stand there facing the cameras for minutes on end. There is definitely a great deal of skill on the part of the photographer in taking and selecting photos to make the subjects look good, which this photographer doesn't have.

The sailor looks like a sailor - I'm rather glad he looks that way and not like any CEO, the New Labour minister is wearing the regulation New Labour smile, and obviously takes fashion tips from Gordon Brown, and the multi-millionaire just looks rich /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Best of luck to them - I hope they can pull it off - they've made a good start but there's a long way to go

Having read your comment and that of NDH I agree completely and I wish them success.
I hope they get a result /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

From left to right, Rod Carr, (CE of RYA). Sir Keith Mills and Richard Caborn MP (minister for sport)

That explains a lot. Ministers are usually filmed from shoulders up, therefore no need to clean shoes! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
