We have mainly used my garmin 198 track plotter and hard charts for Nav but were planning to use Sea clear charts on my laptop. I discovered that the laptop was using 5amps which we would find unsustainable.
Considering getting a little garmin 451S but cant find consumption in the spec. Has anyone got a figure for this.
Most seem to come with 'UK and Ireland mapping' is this mapping at suitable (Capture) scales for use in areas where accuracy is critical.
Thanks.

15watts at 13.8v - its in the back of the user manual..

My Toshiba a4 operates off the 12volt ships supply and has the battery removed. It also hibernates when not being used. I think it draws 2 amps flat out running Seaclear only.

i just bought a garmin 451, at full screen brightness it consumes just under an amp, at low brightness 1/4 amp, amazing that the screen consumes most of the power! much less than a laptop.
