I am toying with the idea of a small chart plotter
Standard Horizon models seem to receive good write ups at a budget price.
The Garmin GPSMap 276c has everything for sea and road navigation. I like that perfect for the car but the screen is a bit on the small side for use onboard. Is there anything else that can be used on the boat and car with a slightly bigger screen?
If it had road map facility I would want roads on the continent - mainly France, Belgium, Holland & Germany.

Many thanks

Don't know of anything with a larger screen that would still be small enough for a car, but to me, the Garmin 276 appears to be the perfect all-rounder. Takes memory cards that will fit the whole of Europe if you want.

Why do you think the screen is too small for on-board use? You can mount it anywhere you want (i.e. close by your helm); best system I've seen is the Ram-mount. See here

Wobb.
