Plonker of the Week Award

Wadya mean, ive abused you loads of times. MF ripped yer crane off. Fer christ sake
Mind we got trouble in the bed room Aftewards.

Hang on, one minute it's all about poor MF being kicked in the davits by a rampant raggie (my sympathies there, by the way) and the next MF herself is ripping LJS's crane off (which I would imagine isn't small or easy to rip off). Do tell me more...

Well it was a good few years ago on my previous boat a CI32. MF decided to venture into the Exe where HLB experienced currents and tides somewhat stronger than elsewhere on the S coast and slightly misjudged coming alongside Blue Fisher and managed to permanently alter the attachment of my crane used for lifting bags of scallops.
Strangely enough MF was never seen in the Exe again ;)

DAKA, do you know that the first lines/links of you 'signature' no longer work?

Just curious....

Thanks for pointing it out, yes I am aware some links were sabotaged during the transition to the new forum format.

I have tried numerous times to repair the links but the new system will not allow me to change any of them.

I have repaired them now and the ones below will work on a temporary basis.

sailing, don't you just love it to death !

I suspect this is a deliberate troll as:

/QUOTE]

I am still not sure what a troll is, my post was intended to put a message across with a little humour included, sorry if you missed it, here is the serious post for your benefit.

Here is a photo of an Rsole in an RYA training school boat who has just sailed through a crowded anchorage in a 37ft Cruiser , he is in the process of tacking into my port midships and everyone on my boat is leaping into action ready for a collision, thankfully the collision was avoided as the rsole ran aground for 2 hours.

The message I am attempting to convey is that a Bavaria 37ft Cruiser with a 4ft boom head clearance isnt as agile as a topper.
Where you have a theoretical right to sail through an anchorage it is antisocial behaviour like drink driving, I have the right to miss you by a few feet at 25knots but wouldnt dream of doing so !

I suspect this is a deliberate troll as:

First of all no col regs say that you can't sail through an anchorage, other wise how would you be able to anchor. Sailoring on and off a mooring/anchor is actually a skill and something that you are often taught in sailing school (a skill that becomes life critical in MOB situations). Some sailing boats don't have motor, so they have to do this everytime.

Secondly you have made the presumption that he was tacking into a "direct and certain collision course". I could invent all sorts of situations on presumptions so a bit daft really.

Admittedly not the best place to practice, but they weren't doing anything inherently wrong or causing a danger, so chill out and enjoy the skills being deployed..... or not.

So it's skilful to run your yacht aground is it ?

All bloody rubbish.

Nicely coming alongside, when out of my sight, your fking crane swung out and hooked it's self round MF's rails. MF was quite anoid about this, so mangled the crane good and proper.

Mind the stantion over the bed room, leaked a bit afterwards.

I live in the UK and the UK I live in seems very different from that which is so often portrayed in the Lounge! :D

Do you mean it isn't as described in the Daily Mail?

Are you really trying to say it isn't a dangerous and terrifying place full of vicious hoodies, road-ragers, benefit scroungers, illegal immigrants, yob-dogs, single mums, braying hooray-Henrys, child molesters, rapists, drug-crazed teenagers, bent cops, rogue traders, violent white-van drivers, etc?

Nobody will ever believe you. ;)

That description pretty well describes where we live, possibly excluding bent cops, otherwise we have 'em all within a 2ml radius.

As 'PLONKER OF THE WEEK' has resulted in much debate, could it not remain a fixed heading under 'YOUR FAVORITE M.B. video' until superceeded by another plonker? as im sure there is another a lurking out there somewhere.
