I have decided on the Plisse style blinds for the boat, just the galley area that is.

Now the thing is i cant find proper blackout Plisse blinds that actually black out.

1st idea

Add blackout material strips the the back side ont he blinds....a rat afff about

2nd idea

Use a spray paint of some sorts to spray the back side to make it as near blackout as possible.

They are generally made from Polyester.

Any advice on a spray paint so i can have a go and see what happens ?

BTW i have been to get a few quotes for three blinds all 37 drop and two 50cm wide and one 90cm wide. £700 is a bit OTT i think.

Online and a DIY fitting is the way to go, easy enough to fit anyway.

On that topic of blackouts...
I bought a Yoga mat online for £5 delivered. I cut out the shapes of my windows in this foam (about 1cm thick), slightly oversized by a few mm. These press into each window frame and are total blackout. Put up in a minute, and the only light is through the venti-lites and the compass. I'm about to make one for the compass!

That is going to be done but i am making canvas for the outside for when away from the boat. The Plisse is for cosmetic and the choice of open and closed half/top/bottom etc
