Please recommend an Insurance Co

Friend is currently gong through a claim. His fault. No one else involved. Bill is in excess of £50k and he is very glad he went with a decent insurer and not necessarily the cheapest.

Totally agree. The cheapest quote isnt necessarily the best solution. When my previous boat developed serious structural cracks in keel / hull (not as a result ofhitting anything) I was fortunate to be insured with GJW - who paid up quickly - as they assessed the pre purchase survey (nearly 6 years previously) had missed somefundamental faults that caused the cracks.

Topsail; I've not had a claim but they were very reasonable and able to insure us for short-handed world wide cruising. Fellow blue-water cruisers recommended them. They also do yottie travel insurance.

I wouldn't tit about: get yourself a good broker, who'll get you the best deal and fight your corner with the actual insurance company if they give you any gyp.

Just hope the 100 quid or so commision he makes does not sway him into selling you what he wants you to buy ?

If that's the case, then the actual insurers would be covering me for free.
