Please Identify

Hi,
We've just bought a boat on Ebay, we have been advised that it may be a Norman 17ft dating from the early 1990's, others have suggested its a Shetland from the 1970's, but we're not sure. Please can someone confirm what this boat is. We need this information so we can insure it!!

Nope, certainly not a Shetland, and the windows and stepped bowline is wrong for a Norman 17....

Well i used to own a norman 18 and having a look on normanboats.co.uk it doesnt look like either a 17 or 18. It is similar to a 17 and the bow windows are similar. The profile of the shoulderline near the stern is similar but still no jackpot im afraid.. maybe its a custom home grown jobby

Agree, not a norman or a shetland, 100% sure of that. There used to be loads of small time boat builders building almost un-branded boats, as well as the bigger makers like norman and shetland. It'll be an unknown brand from a small builder. Perfectly ok though. Have fun
