Please don\'t tell anyone Pt 2
Following on from yesterday's embarassing tale of my encounter with the Lifeboat, the plot thickens.
Rang local Volvo dealer at 9am - boss not in but would get the message and would ring back.
Rang again at approx 2pm - just gone out!!
Here's me with a boat that won't start and a possibly mounting bill for being on a buoy just 3 miles from home.
I turn up at said dealer at 2.30pm and man that I want is in - "Can't start work on it until a week tomorrow".
Well there goes my trip with a mate to Falmouth and Fowey /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Anyway, I reluctantly accept this situation and park the car in Salcombe and walk to the HM's office. Here I am to meet up with the launch that will tow me home. This was to cost the sum of £60 which I duly paid.
Out to pick up the boat and we thread our way through the Bag and head upstream towards Kingsbridge. About half way there I remember to raise both tabs and outdrive 'cos I'm on a drying berth.
Oh B******S neither of them work and I'm now getting a malfunction code from the EDC - all these were working yesterday.
Tow therefore has to be aborted and I'm back on a HM's buoy, albeit one that is nearer to home.
Volvo agent will try to raise leg and tabs tomorrow. If successful then tow can be re-attempted tomorrow pm. Hope I don't have to pay again.
Upshot is that the rest of my hols - 10 days - are knackered and I'm far less certain that the fault really is a US starter motor. It now seems far more complicated than that.
It's purgatory being next to the water, with beautiful weather and not having your boat to play with.
Out of interest has anyone had dealings with the Darthaven Volvo people?
