Took my rub-a-dub's outboard off the boat last December, and 'stored' it for the winter in the passage alongside chez-TK. Needed it today for the fiirst time this season, so swept the dust off, put in some fresh Fred Lee, took it down to the seaside, fixed it to the tender and it started second pull, then pushed self and one sprog back up a mile and half of river, without missing a beat.

Well done, Mr Yamaha. Nice product. (2-horse-2-stroke)

It's nice to hear someone still makes engines that work. Maybe I should try them for a new inboard? Mind you the tender's o/b has always started first time since new: plug in the battery, lower the prop into the water, selector switch to "forwards" and operate the "on" switch . Hummmmm...... (1-horse no-stroke)

When a forumite had his o/b nicked I offered my 3.3 Tohatsu on loan, been sitting in the barn for two years. Went down and gave a heave on the cord, locked solid!

Not blaiming Tohatsu as I had sunk the tender and o/b during that final season, still it carried on working for a few weeks so I kind of forgot about the drowning.
